Design Process
There are many different problems in the world that need to be solved, so it is obvious that our group had other ideas for different issues. Three of these ideas that we rejected were an Eco-Truck, a Rocket Fan Room, and a Magnet Floor.
The Eco-Truck was supposed to be an eco-friendly truck, since trucks badly pollute earth. The truck would run on renewable energy and charge using solar power instead of gas. It would also have wind turbines that would generate power to move the truck. We decided to not do this idea due to the fact that the Eco-Truck would either have replace the trucks that we have now, or the abilities that the Eco-Truck has would need to be applied to the existing trucks. The problem with this is that both options would take a very long time to do, and would be very expensive.
The Fan Room was a solution to the fact that astronauts’ muscles become very weak because of the lack of gravity in space. Basically, there would be a room in the rocket ship that has a fan that would create an artificial gravity. However, the fan would blow down anything else in the room. Also, we would probably need to replace all rocket ships that we have now, since it would probably be too difficult to add a room to our existing rockets. Either way, this solution would be very expensive.
The Magnet Floor was also a solution that would help keep astronauts’ muscles strong while in space. This solution would involve attaching magnets to astronauts’ suits and on the floor of the rocket ship. This would create an artificial gravity. However, this would be very complicated, which is one reason why we did not pick this idea. Another reason is that, like the Eco-Truck, we would need to replace all existing rocket ships, or add magnets to all of the rocket ships that we have. We would also need to either remake all of the astronaut suits, or apply magnets to all of the existing suits. All of this would be very, very costly.
We chose to design the X-Text for a few reasons. One of these reasons is the fact that the X-Text can save many lives. It is true that the Fan Room and the Magnet Floor would improve the lives of many astronauts, but without one of the two solutions, the astronauts would not die. Besides, very few people ever go to space, so the X-Text would help many more people. In our group, we had taken a vote on what solution to do. Most people wanted to do the X-Text, so that was another reason that made us do the X-Text. The X-Text probably would not be as expensive as some of our other ideas, too.
X-Text consequences
Like all amazing ideas, there are upsides and downsides to our project. Some good things are that we found was that with X-Text, millions of lives can be saved, making people have a longer and happier life with their family, reducing the chance of accidents. Also, people who like to text and drive might prefer to car pool, or ride massed transit lowering the gasses going into our atmosphere, creating a cleaner world for everyone. Another benefit is, that the X-Text will stop accidents from happening, making traffic move quicker. Finally money will stay in the driver’s pocket because there won’t be as many accidents on the road, so they won’t have to pay insurance.
Unfortunately, as X-Text saves lives, there are more mouths to feed and more bodies to hydrate, so we will have to figure out a way to make more food and water on Earth. Another down side is that insurance companies will struggle to stay alive due to the fact that people won’t get into accidents as much. Also, it would cost more to make the new car, so the price of all cars will cost more. Another problem is that cars that don’t have X-Text will still be on the road, so it will take a while to get X-Text in all cars. Finally, someone could take the chip that counts down in the car out so the X-Text will have to be part of the computer in the car.
Thank you for reading our report on X-Text. We hope that you liked the idea, and we hope that you will take our project into consideration. We will try to make X-Text become a reality in the near future.
